Tootsie Pops

If you have Tootsie Pops in your life all is well. That's what I've decided this week! I took some to the Rangers Baseball game last night and shared them with all the kids in our group and they got so excited for such a small treat. It made me reevaluate the power-of-the-pop. Is there symbolism in working your way through the hard outer shell to the chocolatey-chewy center? I'd say yes to that today.

Still no gratitude from the teens and now, over two weeks later, I thought I'd at least hear from my sister as I sent home a gift for her; but I guess that apples really don't fall far from the tree!

I hear you on the "thank you" thing but unfortunately teens today and some younger kids just fail to understand and express appreciation. Some of us adults do too and we should know better. When my younger brother got married years ago he and his wife got tons of beautiful and some very expensive gifts. Neither of them ever sent a single thank you note. The family was stunned. The excuse? They simply never got around to it. I finally let it go in spite of the anger and embarrassment. They were young, in their early 20s, but still. Who forgets to send thank you notes for your wedding gifts for God's sakes? Anyway, keep hitting the pool and taking the vitamin D. Keep sharing your tootsie pops 'cause those things are amazing. Read a good book, the library has some. And pour a glass of wine and listen to your favorite tunes. All will be better. I'm sure of it.
